fleet week 2008

Today is the last week of Fleet Week here in New York. Seeing all the sailors in their white attire reminded me of my favorite musical On the Town starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. The movie features great songs like "New York, New York" and fantastic dancing. They also go to the Museum of Natural History which is right across the street from my future apartment.

the royal tenenbaums

The house where it was filmed is located in Harlem on W. 144th and Convent Avenue.

I just finished watching one of my favorite movies, "The Royal Tenenbaums." Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson are amazing. The cast is perfect (Angelica Houston, Ben Stiller, Danny Glover, Luke & Owen Wilson). The set is perfect. The clothes are perfect, especially the matching tracksuits Chas and his sons wear. I've never been a big Gwyneth Paltrow fan, but she is just fantastic as Margot, the adopted one. The only thing that would make this movie anymore fantastic would be the addition of the Schwartz.

Penis, hawaiian shirts, boobs, vampires, Jonah, love, and more penis. What is there not to love about this movie? And OMG Jack McBrayer (Kenneth from 30 Rock) is HILARIOUS.

hotel chevalier

I love Jason Schwartzman and Wes Anderson so I don't know how I missed Hotel Chevalier. How did I not know this movie existed? Well, I just finished watching it and love it. I love Jason's awkwardness and Natalie's cuteness. I'm really starting to like her... a lot. The yellow color is all kinds of wonderful. Ugh, I love Wes!
